Actress Claudia Kim in London for Avengers sequel
On April 10, actress Kim Soo-hyun (Brain, 7th Grade Civil Servant) was spotted in the streets of London – most notably in Soho.
It was not a coincidence as she had been confirmed just one month earlier, in March, that she would be starring in upcoming sequel of Hollywood blockbuster Avengers. On March 13, she joined the cast to a premier of Captain America: the Winter Soldier in Los Angeles, which was her first official appearance for Marvel Studios.
A few days later, from March 30 to April 12, the film crew had been shooting scenes in Seoul, in the following locations:
Mapo Bridge on March 30,- Digital Media City (DMC) from April 2 to 4,
- Cheongdam Bridge on April 5, Gagnam Boulevard on April 6,
- Kaywon School of Art and Design in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do from April 7 to 9.
On April 14, Casting Collective and other UK extra agencies posted an advertisement saying that they were looking for Korean men and women to appear in a “major feature film that has recently been shooting in South Korea and is now shooting in the London area between May and July 2014.” Obviously, that movie is Avengers: Age of Ultron which is currently being shot at the Pinewood Shepperton Studios, in North West London.
After the scenes in Seoul, Kim Soo-hyun has definitely followed the shooting crew and cast to London, and is currently working in London.
Her role has not been specified, although it was suggested that she would have a “substantial supporting role”. An article by What Culture speculated about 5 possible Marvel characters: Moondragon, Mantis, Jocasta, Death or Wasp.
Avengers 2 also stars Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson among others, is directed by Joss Whedon and set for a premiere release in South Korea in April 2015. If you see actress Claudia Kim hanging around London, now you know why.
