Claudia Kim at Opening Ceremony in NYThe ambition of Netflix seems to have no limit. After investing more than 90 million dollars in the production of its new original series, Marco Polo, the streaming platform decided to launch its latest production like a Hollywood blockbuster through a massive opening ceremony.

The event took place in New York on Wednesday 2 December, in presence of all the recurring actors, as well as film industry mogul and The Weinstein Company’s founder Harvey Weinstein, Marco Polo creator John Fusco and Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. South Korean actress Claudia Soo-hyun Kim (Khutulun) was also among the guests, posing for the occasion (left).

Other actors to attend were:  Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco Polo), Benedict Wong (Kublai Khan), Joan Chen (Empress Chabi), Remy Hii (Prince Jing-im), Tom Wu (Hundred Eyes), Chin Han (Jia Sidao), Olivia Cheng (Mei Lin), Zhu Zhu (Kokachin), Mahesh Jadu (Ahmad), Uli Latukefu (Byamba), Rick Yune (Kaidu) and Amarsaikhan Baljinnyam (Ariq Böke).

All 10-episodes are available for streaming on Netflix UK, and this from December 12 onwards.
