The second London Korean Drama Club MeetUp took place exactly one week ago, and we did even better than the first time.

Indeed, we were lucky to have the full restaurant of Yijo Korean BBQ only for us. In total, 12 people attended, including almost all those who had confirmed. We welcomed a few new guests, all very knowledgeable about the different Korean dramas.

During the evening, we proceeded to the initial nominations for our upcoming Daehan Drama Awards 2013, which we will be publishing about shortly. The selection was more or less difficult across categories, but the shortlists were almost unanimous.

Members were also presented with opportunities to contribute to our website (daehandrama.com) and a YouTube channel to be launched soon. That channel is to focus on Korean cultural activities and events in the UK, and we are working on gathering enough footage and contributors for a launch. We also improved on last time, as we managed to have OSTs of 2013 Korean dramas to play in the background. Of course, we played the music from My Love from Another Star – whose CD box we got from our partner Hmart – but also many other popular dramas, upon selection from our members.

To top the evening we were served with an amazing amount of delicious Korean dishes. Pajeon, Yang Yeum chicken, samgyeopsal, bulgogi, kimbap were among the many specialties we had the chance to eat in great quantities.
