You knew Facebook groups, you knew Skype group chats… well, now you have a mobile-based application that gathers all these functionalities: BAND! Available on iOS and Android platforms, BAND is indeed a social networking application that allows groups to share audio and video files, exchange messages, plan events and much more.

Launched by US subsidiary of Naver Corporation, Camp Mobile, in August 2012, BAND has already reached 35 million users in only 2 years. Mike Won, Managing Director of Camp Mobile, came in September 2013 to introduce his company and BAND at a forum organized by the Korean Society of the London School of Economics (LSEKS), which was also attended by director Yoon Seok-ho (Winter Sonata, Love Rain).

We are lucky to have encountered Mike Won back then, and are now happy to announce that BAND and Camp Mobile are official partners of the London Korean Drama Club and will be supporting our Daehan Drama awards ceremony. In the wake of this partnership, we have created a BAND group which we would like you to join here.

Since the application has not officially launched in the UK yet, we are one of the few first groups to contribute insights on the usage of the application – the same U.S. version of the application that Camp Mobile just launched today, 7 October 2014!

In about one month, 5 to 10 members of the London Korean Drama Club will be chosen as to give their video feedback, while all members will be invited to give their feedback through a survey.
